At the end of the day, you want your building and equipment secure. That takes two things: a quality door and a strong locking system. Diamond Doors engineered a locking system built specifically for bifold doors, instead of adapting a generic design.
A strong locking system does more than keep out intruders. It also shields your building and equipment from harsh weather and structural damage.
Smart Engineering, Fewer Headaches
Diamond Doors builds bifold doors to simplify maintenance, eliminate door failure, and last the lifetime of your building. The locking system is no exception.
Many other manufacturers rely on cables, straps, or springs. These setups are complicated. They need regular tension adjustment. They create more pinch hazards. And they rely on numerous moving parts that wear out over time.
That’s why Diamond Doors took a different approach. Our locking system cuts down on maintenance and improves long-term reliability, right from the start.
The Core Components
Diamond Doors offers two locking system options for your bifold door. Each one is built from a handful of components designed for simplicity and strength. The two systems look slightly different on the surface. But the underlying mechanics are the same.
- Lock Rods – These rotate to press the locking fingers into place, securing the door against the building frame. Because they’re set at the factory, lock rods never need adjustment.
- Locking Fingers – Attached to the ends of the lock rods, these press tightly against the locking catches. The mechanism works much like a vise grip. It generates tremendous leverage and creates a strong seal between the door and the building.
- Locking Catches – Fastened directly to the building, these connect the door’s locking fingers to the structure. They’re adjustable, so the door seals perfectly against your building.
Together with the hinges and side rollers, the locking system creates a complete seal between the door and its frame. That seal means better temperature control and insulation. It also keeps the door from blowing out during heavy winds.
Auto-Lock vs. Manual Lock
Diamond Doors offers two locking system options: the auto-lock and the manual lock. Both allow for easy day-to-day operation. And both provide reliable protection for your equipment and building.
The Auto-Lock
Do you use your door often to access your building? Then the auto-lock system is worth considering. It engages and disengages automatically as you open or close the door. That makes it ideal for doors that open multiple times a day, or multiple times a week.
Add the remote control package, and the system becomes fully remote. It works much like a garage door at home. Your bifold door unlocks and opens with the click of a button. Or it closes and locks without you leaving your seat. That’s especially convenient when the weather turns cold and wet.
Mechanical limit switches govern the auto-lock, so it runs reliably every time. These switches are preset at the factory for easy installation. They never require adjustment.
Want keypad access? Diamond Doors offers that too, with a personalized four-digit code. You can mount the keypad outside your building or on any flat surface that works for you.

The Manual Lock
This simple, budget-friendly option suits nearly every door application. It comes standard with every door, so you don’t need any upgrades to secure your building and equipment.
Many manufacturers use double-latch systems. Diamond Doors uses a single lever instead. In fact, we often call it the single-lever locking system rather than the manual lock.
The single-lever design unlocks both sides of the door at the same time. That makes it quicker and easier to get in and out of your building. And you can mount it on either the left or right side of the door, so you have flexibility around windows and pedestrian doors.
Every manual lock also includes a safety switch. It stops the door opener from operating while the door is locked, protecting your building, your door, and the opener itself from structural damage.

The Diamond Doors Difference
The locking systems offered by Diamond Doors reflect what makes a Diamond door worth choosing. We built ours with quality and excellence in mind: a long-lasting, durable design that’s simple to install, easy to use, and low-maintenance by nature.
