Roland Air Spray Commercial Hangar

Founded in 1985, Roland Air Spray has an established reputation of quality in their local community. Located just a few miles north of Roland, Manitoba, they provide the agricultural industry within the Pembina Valley with a wide range of services and products.

They specialize in aerial application but also offer ground application, soil management, chemical sales, seed sales, and custom seed treatment options to farmers across southern Manitoba. Their reputation and wide variety of services has made Roland Air Spray a busy operation, especially during the farming season. When Mike Pfrimmer, owner of Roland Air Spray, began looking for doors for his hangars and machine shops, he knew he needed something that was convenient and easy to operate.

With cost as a consideration, Roland Air Spray installed a sliding door on one building. However, they soon discovered that the sliding door didn’t meet their requirements for ease of use and convenience. The door track was prone to freezing up with ice and snow in the winter. Mike recalls this experience saying: “snow was a problem. Ice was a problem, the center post in the ground for leveling would move with the seasons.” It quickly became evident that another solution was needed. That solution was a Diamond bifold commercial hangar door.

A Diamond door has a number of advantages over other door styles such as overhead door and sliding doors. The design of the bifold commercial hangar door – attached directly to the building in most cases – eliminates the jamming issues common with sliding doors. And unlike overhead doors that are limited in width, a commercial bifold door can reach spans of more than one hundred feet wide, allowing plenty of room for planes and other equipment to move through the doorway.

Now, Roland Air Spray has five Diamond doors installed on various hangars and machine sheds across the yard. The very newest door is a sixty-eight foot wide, twenty foot tall bifold on a new Goodon Industries cold storage building.

When asked why he continues to install Diamond doors before anything else, Mike explains that it’s due to the ease of use of the door. “We open these doors numerous times a day – four, five, six [times],” says Mike. “You press a button – it opens. You press a button – it closes and locks.” Mike also speaks to the ease and convenience of ordering through Goodon Industries, a local building company and Diamond Doors dealer. “My experience… was a one-stop shop. The building was erected, the door was here… ready to go on. There were no holdups. I felt it worked pretty smooth.”

Darcy Unruh, a building erector for Goodon Industries, agrees that a Goodon building and Diamond door are a great match. When asked why Goodon continues to use Diamond Doors, Darcy says: “easy installation, we have many install crews and we can maintain consistency with this system”. With years of experience installing Diamond doors on new and existing buildings, Goodon Industries consistently offers customers a smooth building experience.

Whether it’s ordering, installation, or daily operation of the door, Diamond Doors has always made ease of use a priority. A simple quality design, low maintenance features and a less-is-more approach help improve that experience and make the Diamond door unique.

After all, a Diamond commercial hangar door isn’t another piece of equipment to look after, but a tool that makes the day easier. Find out how a commercial bifold door can help improve the efficiency of your business by talking with our sales team.

I definitely recommend Diamond Doors to other operators or pilots. Easy, simple. They are not overbuilt or underbuilt. I feel they will last a lifetime - or a couple.
