Bifold door hinges connect the door to the building (at the top of the door) and join the top and bottom halves of the door together (at the center of the door). Durable hinges are essential to the safety and security of the bifold door.

At Diamond Doors, we manufacture our hinges using a cold roll forming technique that provides about 20% more strength to the hinge. Our hinges also use a one piece design with multiple hinge knuckles. Added knuckles help distribute the loads of the door more evenly across the hinges and door header. Together, these unique features increase the strength and longevity of the hinges, adding safety and durability to your door.

We also use an exclusive hinge bushing design to create a hinge that functions smoothly and quietly without regular greasing. This makes our door hinges a truly low maintenance option for your bifold door.

FAQ

Do I need to grease my door hinges?
No, you do not need to grease your door hinges. Diamond Doors uses greaseless hinge bushings for each bifold door, creating a hinge that functions smoothly and quietly without greasing.
Are the door hinges welded or bolted onto the building?
This depends on the building type. On wood buildings, the door hinges must be bolted on. We include the appropriately sized mounting hardware and bolts for this. For steel buildings, the door hinges can be either bolted or welded on.
What is cold roll forming?
Cold roll forming is a metal manufacturing process that uses only pressure (rather than heat and pressure) to shape different metal components. The end result is a precise and uniform steel component that is stronger and harder than with traditional steel manufacturing processes.
How many door hinges does a bifold door need?
The number of hinges that your door needs will vary depending on the size and weight of your door. Our sales team will be able to provide you with this information when you request a quote for a bifold door.
