Electrical Auto-Latch / Auto-Lock
The auto-lock is the easy, reliable locking option for your door. Using this system allows for a complete remote access door, as the lock engages automatically when the door closes and releases when the door is opened.

Reduced Heat Loss
Your door is closed in the winter more than it’s open, so a strong seal and quality insulation are important. The insulation panels are fastened to the exterior of the steel frame, creating a full thermal break. Our insulation package includes a closed cell neoprene foam around the perimeter of the door sealing the door to the building.
Easily Installed on Existing Buildings
Diamond bifold doors are easily installed on existing buildings. However, if your building needs additional strength to support the weight and loads of your door, consider the self supporting header system to provide that support without the prohibitive cost of renovating your entire building.

Our exclusive hinge design is completely maintenance free. The hinge bushings eliminate any creaking, functioning smoothly and quietly without regular greasing.

If you have the time you can hang the door yourself to save on install costs. Our doors ship in an “A” frame, fully assembled, pre-wired, and finish painted for your convenience. We also offer installation through a network of dealers and service professionals for busy seasons or when installing yourself isn’t ideal.

Installed to the outside of your building, bifold doors do not take up valuable headroom inside your building. With our self-supporting header option the door can even extend past the roofline, giving you the maximum amount of overhead space that your building will allow. Frequently Asked Questions About Aircraft Hangar Doors
Can I operate a bifold door in high winds?
We do not recommend operating a bifold door during high winds. While the door is designed to withstand high winds in the closed and locked position, having it open during extreme weather conditions could result in severe damage to your door, building, or property.
How difficult is it to install a Diamond door?
Installing a Diamond door is relatively simple. Doors can be installed with standard tools and equipment (including a fork lift or similar equipment). We provide a complete installation manual with every door to guide the installation process, and our service team is available to answer any questions that may arise.
What door sizes does Diamond Doors offer?
While common door sizes vary depending on industry, Diamond Doors manufactures doors of almost any size. We’ve built everything from general aviation hangar doors, quonset doors, farm shop doors, and a hangar door for the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada that measures over 100 feet wide.
What happens if I need to use my door when the power is out?
We have included an emergency manual opener on each door motor to ensure the door can be open and closed when there is a power failure. Each motor is equipped with a hex shaft, which can be used with a socket wrench or cordless drill to manually turn the motor.
How well does a bifold door seal against harsh weather?
A Diamond bifold door provides an excellent seal against harsh weather, especially compared to other door styles like overhead and sliding doors. We include several door components in our design that work together to provide a secure seal.
Can I install a bifold door on an existing building?
Yes, Diamond bifold doors are easily installed on an existing building. If the building is not capable of supporting the door, you can add the required structural supports to your existing building or ask about our self supporting header option.

Bifold Door Gives New Life to Decades Old Quonset
As a 5th generation farmer, Brodie Durston understands the value of hard work. When his grandfather started the current farm location near Dauphin, Manitoba in 1959, he ran a mixed calf and grain operation. In the early 1960s, he built a quonset that housed his seed cleaning operation. But as the farm continued to grow, it became apparent that more space was required to keep up with the needs of the farm.
Now using the quonset as an unheated shop, Brodie found that the aging sliding doors couldn’t keep up with their needs. They were becoming difficult to move and frequently jammed with snow and debris, causing extra work and frustration. After all, running a mixed calf and grain operation makes efficiency and ease of use a priority in day-to-day operations.
That’s when Brodie started looking at options to upgrade the sliding doors on his quonset.
